Chapter 7

Julie

A soft sigh falls from my lips as I glance at the dress in the mirror. Serena goaded me into buying it last weekend. She and Bailey were going out with the rest of their friends tonight, and I asked to tag along, meet them. Serena agreed easily saying that Bailey was the hardest sell and she already loved me so the others would as well. Then she proceeded to show me pictures of them all dressed up for nights past and I groaned seeing them all in dresses.

That had Serena daring me to wear one, one that she chose, and if I did, she’d let me do anything I wanted to her at the end of the night. Visions of my girl tied to her bed, eating me, letting me eat her until we were both exhausted filled my head and I’d given in. Now, I still want all of those things to come true, but I’m second guessing the dress. It’s short and tight and I know I’m not pulling it off the way she could.

I hang it back up on the door and grab some work clothes to add to my overnight bag. I’ve stayed at Serena’s almost every night since we met. Even last week when we were both on our periods and all we did was kiss and talk, complaining about cramps and bloating and stupid period acne. It’s been three weeks since we met and I am completely, one hundred percent in love with her. Being away from her hurts.

A knock sounds on my door and I slip over to it, smiling seeing Momma behind it. She’s alone which means little Jillian has to be asleep on Daddy’s chest because if not, she’d be there in his arms. “Hey Momma.”

“Hi sweetheart,” she replies, kissing my cheek before coming into my room as I move back to finish packing my bag. I know she’s not going to complain about me not staying at the house. I mean, she’s the one that gave Jackie permission to move in with Ethan before the wedding. Ethan’s the one that said no to stay on Daddy’s good side. “You’re going out?”

“Yeah, some new friends,” I hedge not sure what the right time to tell Momma about Serena is. Not to mention telling Daddy. I don’t want them being weird about it before Jackie’s wedding and messing up her big day. I love my little sister way too much to let anything mess up her day.

“One of them looks to be a little more than just a friend,” Momma says, her finger tapping on the little love bite Serena gave me last night. No one saw it at work with the scarf she tossed around my neck before I left this morning, but I’d taken it and my work clothes off when I came in to grab some more stuff.

I brought the dress to get a pair of matching shoes as well, but am honestly thinking of wearing something else.
